The numbers that matter on short-form video in 2026, verified from Wyzowl, HubSpot, Socialinsider, Wistia and DataReportal, read through first-party data from a creator network that has run 18B+ verified views.
Short-form video is the highest-ROI content format in 2026 (HubSpot), and 91% of businesses use video (Wyzowl). Engagement has consolidated on TikTok (3.70% vs 0.48% on Instagram). But after running 18 billion views across a 62,900+-creator network, the part the numbers do not say is this: engagement rate is a vanity metric for reach. Results come from how many vetted clips you post, across how many accounts, at what quality bar. In our network only 44% of submitted clips passed review. The clip was rarely the problem; distribution was.
| Platform | Engagement (2025) | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| TikTok | 3.70% | Cold discovery, fastest organic reach |
| Instagram Reels | 0.48% | Warm audience, brand presence |
| 0.15% | Broad reach, older demographics |
Two brands can run the identical clip and see 5,000 views or 5,000,000. The clip did not change. The distribution did.

Every statistic here is cited to the publisher that reported it, and the analysis is drawn from Lumina's first-party data across 18B+ verified views measured through native platform analytics. The 44% pass-rate is from one named campaign of 9,682 clips. Last updated June 2026, reviewed by Rhys McKay, founder of Lumina Clippers.
